Service Department

Q: What is VIR?

A: VIR stands for Very Important Rider and is a prepaid maintenance plan specifically designed to ensure that your Motorcycle, ATV, Personal Water Craft, of Scooter has the routine maintenance it requires - on time and performed by factory certified technicians.

Q: What does the plan cover?

A: The additional coverage of this plan is very exhaustive. Full details are explained in the maintenance certificate. Copies of the certificate are available on request.

Q: How often does my vehicle need to be serviced?

A: Services are scheduled at least once every six months or by the mileage recommended by the manufacturer. Check your manual.

Q: Can I purchase your VIR Pit Pass plan if I bought my vehicle elsewhere?

A: Yes! All we require is that our service department performs an inspection and brings your maintenance up to date.

Q: Why should I prepay for service?

A: The VIR program belongs to the unit and may be sold with it, adding value to your sale.

Q:I can do my own maintenance, why do I need the VIR Pit Pass?

A: Modern engines, multi-valve heads, electronic fuel injection, hydraulic tappets, and other new technological advances have made servicing more challenging for the leisure-oriented rider. Often times, special tools or diagnostic equipment are required to properly complete a service. As an authorized factory dealer with specially trained technicians, McGrath Powersports has everything your Motorcycle, ATV, Personal Water Craft, or Scooter needs to keep it in top running order and free of mechanical problems.
